If you have a simple index.html page handy you can put that in the 'htdocs' folder of MAMP and then by typing ' in your browser window address bar it will show you the page. Your web browser should open up to a page that says 'Welcome to MAMP' with the URL showing in your address bar. You'll see the cocoa program start up and a green light on the small window that appears will indicate when both the Apache and MySQL Servers are running. Then you simply launch MAMP by double-clicking the application icon. Once installed, youll find the application at Applications/MAMP/MAMP. Once it is unpacked on your computer you will get a folder called ' MAMP' with everything inside that you need. Download MAMP and MAMP Pro, unzip the downloaded file, and run the package installer. Once it is running, your Joomla! CMS and other web applications are then installed in a folder called 'htdocs' inside the MAMP folder.ĭownload the MAC OSX package from the link on the MAMP home page. If renaming the phpMyAdmin folder does not fix the error, you can return to the latest stable version within your MAMP installation.
